De Silencio a Fuerza: La Historia Detr\u00e1s de Despierta<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


Juliana Lozano es una trabajadora social y terapeuta colombiana-estadounidense, madre y sobreviviente. Su historia no es solo una de superaci\u00f3n, sino de resurgir\u2014y construir algo poderoso a partir del dolor.

Juliana creci\u00f3 en Gastonia, Carolina del Norte, hija de inmigrantes colombianos y una de las pocas latinas en su comunidad. Desde peque\u00f1a, aprendi\u00f3 a navegar la tensi\u00f3n entre dos culturas: se esperaba que encajara, pero rara vez sent\u00eda que pertenec\u00eda. Como muchas hijas de primera generaci\u00f3n, asumi\u00f3 responsabilidades mucho m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de su edad\u2014traduciendo para su familia, navegando los sistemas sola y, a menudo, reprimiendo sus propias necesidades para sobrevivir.

Pero tras las puertas cerradas, Juliana tambi\u00e9n cargaba el peso del trauma. Super\u00f3 la violencia de pareja a los 17 a\u00f1os y experiment\u00f3 en carne propia lo que significa sentirse silenciada, aislada e invisible. En lugar de permitir que sus experiencias la definieran, las utiliz\u00f3 para alimentar su prop\u00f3sito.

A los 22 a\u00f1os, Juliana hab\u00eda obtenido tanto su licenciatura en Trabajo Social de la UNC Charlotte como su maestr\u00eda en Trabajo Social de la Universidad de Carolina del Sur, todo mientras criaba a su hijo peque\u00f1o, trabajaba a tiempo completo y sanaba de su trauma. Su camino\u2014tanto personal como profesional\u2014le ense\u00f1\u00f3 que la sanaci\u00f3n no es un proceso en solitario. Es algo que hacemos en comunidad.

Esa creencia fue lo que la llev\u00f3 a crear Despierta. Fundada en Charlotte, Despierta naci\u00f3 de todo lo que Juliana hubiera querido que existiera cuando crec\u00eda: un espacio seguro y culturalmente arraigado donde las j\u00f3venes y mujeres latinas pudieran sentirse escuchadas, vistas y apoyadas. Lo que comenz\u00f3 como una visi\u00f3n se ha convertido en un movimiento\u2014apoyando a sobrevivientes, j\u00f3venes y familias a trav\u00e9s de educaci\u00f3n en salud mental informada por el trauma, acceso a terapia, desarrollo de liderazgo y abogac\u00eda.

Como terapeuta licenciada (LCSWA) y defensora comunitaria, Juliana se ha convertido en una voz para el cambio. Ha hablado en varios eventos comunitarios, ha sido destacada en noticias locales y contin\u00faa trabajando en la intersecci\u00f3n de la sanaci\u00f3n y la justicia. En febrero de 2023, represent\u00f3 al LoveSpeaksOut Advocacy Council ante la Junta de Comisionados del Condado de Mecklenburg, alzando la voz durante el Mes de Concientizaci\u00f3n sobre la Violencia en el Noviazgo Adolescente, y ayudando a obtener una proclamaci\u00f3n que ahora reconoce la importancia de este tema cada a\u00f1o.

Hoy, Juliana es Vicepresidenta del Umbrella Center Survivor Task Force, donde ayuda a elevar las voces de las sobrevivientes y abogar por un cambio de sistemas informados por el trauma en toda la regi\u00f3n. Bajo el liderazgo de Juliana, Despierta ha crecido para servir a m\u00e1s de 3,300 personas a trav\u00e9s de programas biling\u00fces y culturalmente sensibles en escuelas, centros comunitarios y m\u00e1s all\u00e1. Ya sea una joven aprendiendo a establecer l\u00edmites por primera vez, o una madre accediendo a terapia en su idioma nativo\u2014la misi\u00f3n de Juliana es asegurarse de que nadie tenga que recorrer el camino de la sanaci\u00f3n sola. Porque la sanaci\u00f3n no ocurre en silencio.
